The Mist

This is one book that I totally got into and (I'm afraid to admit) actually made me sleep with my bedside lamp on, but I was rather disappointed with the ending.
Am I the only one, or are people with me on this one?
Seen that a movie was made in 2007, but it wasn't advertised in the UK. Straight to DVD?
